Company History
The PEC Group was founded in 1991 as Prevent Electrical Contractors cc (“PEC”) as a specialist in electrical building maintenance and utility services in the Northern Gauteng area.
Considerable growth due to reliable service by PEC also included an increase in demand for additional services including plumbing maintenance, turnkey projects and metering services. PEC Metering cc was established in 1993 as part of the PEC Group of companies which now delivered comprehensive service packages to its clients.
The PEC Group soon increased its footprint to allow national clients and all regions in South Africa access to PEC’s brand of service In 2004, the business registered as PEC Metering (Pty) Ltd to accommodate current & anticipated organisational expansion. In September 2013, the entire group re-branded to reintroduce the organisation as a leader in the industry. PEC Utility Management has since developed its business activities far beyond the traditional utility management & maintenance services.
The PEC Group soon increased its footprint to allow national clients and all regions in South Africa access to PEC’s brand of service In 2004, the business registered as PEC Metering (Pty) Ltd to accommodate current & anticipated organisational expansion. In September 2013, the entire group re-branded to reintroduce the organisation as a leader in the industry. PEC Utility Management has since developed its business activities far beyond the traditional utility management & maintenance services.
The brand represents the strength, diversity and unique skills of the PEC Group making “PEC Utility Management” the cornerstone of our now international identity.
BBBEE is one of PEC Utility Management’s key strategic imperatives and we understand the opportunity our new status opens up for PEC, its staff, and for the country as a whole. We recognise and embrace the importance and value of BBBEE and we use the key principles of skills development, staff equity, procurement and CSI to drive many areas of our business.
Over the past 2 decades PEC has nurtured a culture of hard work, passion and innovation, tempered by a sense of fun and adventure, which is an achievement PEC value greatly. Starting with an accreditation of a Level 7 in March 2015, the company moved up in subsequent years to reach a Level 3 in 2018. Obtaining a Level 3 BBBEE status has been a very exciting milestone for PEC.

Our 3 Step Approach
Assess
We do a free preliminary assessment and offer. We require electricity bills and a review of available area to install the solar.
Design
We complete a site assessment, final design and updated offer.
Install
We enter into an install agreement and commence with installation.
